Houses that are one project, not a set of rooms
Kargıcak lies on the coast east of Alanya centre, beyond Mahmutlar; it is quieter and greener, and the land rises quickly from the sea.
Much of the housing on the hillside is made up of detached villas, often on several levels with gardens and sea views, with residence complexes nearer the coast. Many of the owners are foreign and are not resident all year.

Treating a villa as one job
- Several bathrooms and a large kitchen: in a villa the bathrooms may sit on different levels, and renewing them to one plan and one line of materials keeps the house consistent from room to room
- Made-to-measure kitchen, wardrobes and bathroom furniture: for rooms with non-standard dimensions we build the units in our own workshop to the size of the room
- Flooring over a large area: natural stone, porcelain and other floor finishes need consistent setting-out, so the starting point and the run of the joints are decided in advance
- Transitions between levels: stairs, steps and landings are where surfaces meet, and the flooring and paint there should come from the same decision
- Doors and built-in joinery: a villa has more of both, and choosing them together keeps colour and detail in step
In a house on several levels, the order of the work matters as much as the work itself.
Paint on one floor should not be spoilt by the dust and foot traffic of a flooring job on another. We sequence the trades level by level so that no one has to undo what another has just finished.
