Mahmutlar is one of Alanya’s most popular coastal districts for international residents and holiday homeowners. Featuring high-density residential complexes constructed over the past 15–25 years, Mahmutlar properties frequently require modernization to achieve contemporary luxury standards and high rental returns.
Whether you have recently purchased an apartment along Barbaros Street or are updating a family residence, this 2026 guide breaks down the essential steps, costs, and project management standards for apartment renovation in Mahmutlar, Alanya.
Key Renovation Priorities for Mahmutlar Apartments
- Complete Plumbing & Electrical Infrastructure Renewal: Earlier builds often suffer from outdated wiring and brittle piping. Before installing new porcelain floor tiles, upgrading to certified PPRC water lines and RCD-protected electrical boards is essential.
- Modern Open-Plan Kitchen Remodels: Transforming closed, cramped kitchen layouts into bright open-plan spaces with custom breakfast islands and quartz countertops maximizes natural light.
- Luxury Bathroom Upgrades: Replacing old acrylic bathtubs with seamless walk-in showers, linear drains, wall-hung rimless toilets, and moisture-resistant vanity cabinets.
- Balcony & Terrace Waterproofing: Given Mahmutlar’s immediate proximity to the Mediterranean, salt air and winter rainfall necessitate industrial-grade elastic waterproofing beneath balcony tiles to protect lower apartments.
